Andros has an area of 374 sq km. The highest mountains are Petalo and Kouvara (maximum altitude of 997 meters
at the top of Prophet Elias). There are four rivers in the island, which are coming from west to east within a few fertile valleys. The rivers of Andros are Arni which falls to Lefka, Megalos Potamos which falls to Paraporti (Chora), Achla which falls to Achla beach and Dipotama which falls to Syneti.

Some are so isolated that they are accessible only by sea.

Visitor can reach Andros island by ship. By ferry from Rafina, Attica you need two hours for port of Gavrio.
